About ROTCCal Poly Army ROTC trains cadets to be confident, successful, and intelligent commissioned officers in the United States Army. I have decided whether to not commission after graduation; however, this organization taught me about leadership, perseverance, and teamwork during the two years I was involved.

LeadershipROTC produces confident and well-trained leaders for the United States Army. I learn to assess the strengths and weaknesses of myself and my team members to be effective through any challenge or obstacle. Leadership is about motivating others and setting an example of integrity and perseverance.
Physical FitnessPhysical Fitness is a critical aspect of ROTC; not only does it ensure that cadets are able to effectively complete training, but it also teaches us routine, responsibility, and toughness.
Critical ThinkingThe most important skill I have acquired through ROTC is critical thinking and the ability to make intelligent and informed decisions. Whether we are training on an obstacle course, working through missions, or participating in physical training, it is critical that each member understands their role and how they contribute to the success of the group.
