Data Implementation
Using the component fatigue and failure data, the team is able to better understand our component failures and areas of improvement. Before we implemented this system, all parts were designed with a 50-hour intended life. We discovered through the data collection that during a typical testing and competition season, the car is only run for 20 hours; this allowed the subsystem design leads to reduce weight and design for a more accurate component life.
